Installation & Placement

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on level, stable surface.

  1. Clear area: Ensure at least 12 inches of clearance on all sides for proper airflow.
  2. Check power: Use a dedicated 115V AC, 60Hz outlet. Do not use extension cords.
  3. Position unit: Place in center of room or near moisture source (e.g., basement, laundry room).
  4. Attach drain hose (optional): Connect garden hose to continuous drain port if using permanent drainage.

WARNING! Do not place near heat sources or in direct sunlight. Ensure floor is dry to prevent slipping.

First-Time Setup

Plug in unit; follow initial setup steps.

  1. Install air filter: Remove filter, rinse under water, dry completely, and reinsert.
  2. Set humidistat: Turn knob to desired humidity level (recommended 45-50%).
  3. Select mode: Choose between CONTINUOUS or AUTO mode using mode button.
  4. Check tank: Ensure empty water tank is properly seated before operation.

CAUTION! Handle with care; unit contains refrigerant. Do not tilt more than 45 degrees.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access controls via front panel. Power Button: Turns unit on/off. Mode Button: Cycles between CONTINUOUS and AUTO operation. Humidistat Knob: Adjusts target humidity level (35%-85%).

Indicator Lights: Power (green), Full Tank (red), Defrost (yellow).

Continuous Mode: Runs constantly until turned off or tank is full. Auto Mode: Cycles on/off based on humidistat setting. Auto-Defrost: Activates automatically when coil temperature drops below 41°F. Auto Shut-Off: Stops compressor when tank is full; power light remains on.

Operation Modes

Two main modes: AUTO and CONTINUOUS.

  1. AUTO Mode: Unit runs until set humidity is reached, then cycles off. Restarts when humidity rises above setting.
  2. CONTINUOUS Mode: Runs continuously regardless of humidity level. Use for rapid dehumidification.
  3. Defrost Mode: Automatically engages in low temperatures; compressor pauses, fan continues.
  4. Full Tank Mode: Unit stops; red light illuminates. Empty tank to resume.

Tip: Use AUTO mode for energy savings. Use CONTINUOUS for initial drying of very damp areas.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug unit before any maintenance.

  1. Clean air filter: Remove monthly, wash with mild detergent, rinse, dry completely.
  2. Empty water tank: Pour out collected water; clean tank with mild soap monthly.
  3. Clean exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
  4. Check drain hose: Ensure continuous drain hose is clear of obstructions.
  5. Off-season storage: Empty tank, clean unit, coil dry, store upright in dry place.

CAUTION! Do not immerse unit in water. Do not use harsh chemicals on plastic parts.

Water Drainage Options

Two methods: Manual (tank) or Continuous (hose).

  1. Manual Drainage: Unit stops when tank is full (red light). Remove tank, pour water, replace.
  2. Continuous Drainage: Attach standard garden hose (not included) to drain port. Ensure hose runs downward to floor drain or sink.

Note: For continuous drainage, place unit on level surface above drain point. Tank must be in place even when using hose.

Safety Features

Auto Shut-Off: Prevents overflow when tank is full. Auto-Defrost: Protects compressor in cold environments. Tip-Over Switch: Stops operation if unit is tilted. Overload Protection: Safeguards motor from electrical surges.
